Queer Art Club- VIC

Queer Art Club is a space for our Queer Community to come together, share our experiences and stories. With Queer related themes, we will have an opportunity to reflect on our lived experiences- celebrating our joys, expressing our grief and learning about our community. We will hold each other in our grief and pride. Art club is an open invitation to express, explore, experiment, and engage with different art-making prompts and materials (collage, watercolors, soft pastels, oil pastels, paints and much more.) Unlike typical art-making spaces, we don’t instruct you on how to make art- we encourage you to find what feels right, without the pressure of it looking a certain way. You will find yourself in a group setting, chatting and connecting amongst other legends and chilled beats. The space is facilitated by queer arts therapist and community facilitator, Don Fazliu. Don introduces you to Art Club and checks in on you throughout the session. They also facilitate the group dialogue at the end of the session. This is where we come together and share our artworks, what we’ve come to know about theme and ourselves. This supportive space is created by everyone within the group, and it is really lovely to share and listen. Art Club provides all materials. The Gallery dogs (Ace and Fury) regular at Art Club and will often come over for pats and cuddles. 18+ event- sorry no children!
