2024 IDAHOBIT Breakfast and The Dorothies- TAS

WORKING IT OUT Invites you to mark IDAHOBIT 2024.

May 17th each year is International Day Against Prejudice & Discrimination towards Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans and gender diverse people and people with Intersex characteristics. This date was chosen to commemorate the day of the World Health Organization’s decision in 1990 to declassify homosexuality as a mental disorder. Tickets include a full buffet breakfast (see FAQs below for details), and the opportunity to hear from multiple guest speakers addressing our theme for 2024's Dorothies Awards - recognising Excellence in LGBTIQA+ Inclusion in Government Departments/ Agencies. You will also be the first to hear the announcement of 2025's theme (TBC). As well as, or in lieu of, purchasing your own ticket, you have the option to make a tax-deductible donation. These funds will be used to sponsor tickets for members of the community who may otherwise be unable to afford to attend. Any funds not used for tickets will go directly to supporting the work of Working It Out. Once again we are also offering organisations and individuals the opportunity to sponsor the event. We are excited to already have the University of Tasmania as a Major Sponsor, and Carer Gateway / Care2Serve, Relationships Australia Tasmania, and Clarence City Council as our Major Community Sponsors, as well.
