Young Queerios – Mullum- NSW

Queer Family are stoked to announce a fresh new Young Queerios season in 2024 called Resourcing Our Youth!! This year we are meeting in Ballina and Mullum during term time. Term 1 dates: 1-5 Sat 2nd March @ The Farmhouse, Mullum 4-6:30 Wed 13th March @ Ballina Library 1-5 Sat 6th April @ The Farmhouse, Mullum What is happening? This year you'll design and print some cool Queer resources and work towards celebrating special days throughout the year like Wear It Purple Day. We'll supply materials and resources, but what we end up doing is ultimately up to the group. Examples include making stickers, badges, posters, brochures, cards, zines... using different mediums like photography, gelli plate printing, collage, ink, learning illustrator... and/or organising outings or creating events. Or if you just want to hang out, that's ok too! Who is this for? Young Queerios is a safe space to connect, explore, be creative, have fun and make friends. If you're 12-24 years and identify as Queer, or you're still figuring it out, then Young Queerios is for you! Gender diverse and Neurospicy folks will find their identities respected at Queer Family. We can cater to most needs, just let us know if there's something we need to do to make the space more accessible and feel safer for you. Food: Snacks are provided - let us know if you have any allergies! Transport: We can offer lifts from Mullum/Ballina and nearby towns to both locations. Give us at least 24 hours notice please. For those further afield we can provide fuel vouchers if needed.
