The Loud Way Home
Welcome to Say It Out Loud, you’ve come here from the QR code in the Loud Way Home, ACON’s LGBTQ+ anthology of survivor stories. We hope you enjoyed the resource.
It’s normal to feel overwhelmed when reading about someone’s experience/s of sexual violence. Looking after yourself is important.
Looking for some ideas to help chill out?
We recommend listening to some music, maybe some Celtic guitar?
Nature sounds might be more of your thing, or maybe a relaxing grounding meditation.
You can find some other thoughts here.

LGBTQ+ Primary Prevention Campaigns
Learn about healthy LGBTQ+ relationships through our campaigns:
- Our Relationships
This campaign features a series of wondrous LGBTQ+ relationships in short self-filmed documentaries/films, touching on the intersections of Indigeneity, sexuality, gender, disability, culture and language. This is a celebration of the beauty and diversity of Our Relationships.
- At The Front Door
Through this campaign, we hope LGBTQ+ people will be able to connect and relate to experiences of what healthy relationships can look like, as well as those community members whose relationships may have problematic elements. Being able to connect with the very real experiences shared by the film’s participants can be a critical factor in reducing risk and increasing protective factors for LGBTQ+ people.
- Solidarity and Connection
This campaign shines a light on the connection between trans women and non-binary trans femme people, and people of other genders. These are real stories from people across the country in a variety of relationships – everything from friendships to romance.
- Pave The Way
This campaign pays tribute to older members of the LGBTQ+ community and the meaningful connections they’ve built through decades of their lives. - Family Pride Stories
This campaign showcases 7 inspiring families from across the nation, who spoke about their shared understanding, love and pride.
